Abstract
Purpose: To assess the correlation between static visual acuity, static stereopsis, and dynamic stereopsis according to the astigmatic blur in refractive errors due to a combination of myopia and astigmatism.

Methods: The study included 72 adults (mean age: 22.25¡¾2.46 years). After generating an astigmatic blur (full correction, undercorrected ?0.50 DC, undercorrected ?1.00 DC, spherical equivalent correction), LogMAR static visual acuity, static stereopsis, and dynamic stereopsis were measured. The measurements were compared according to the astigmatic blur in all refractive errors. Myopia (S) and astigmatism (C) were also classified and combined (SLCL, SLCM, SMCL, SMCM, SHCM) according to the severity. Correlations between these groups were compared and evaluated.

Results: LogMAR static visual acuity, static stereopsis, and dynamic stereopsis deteriorated when the astigmatic blur occurred in all refractive errors. These values were also measured in a wider range. LogMAR static visual acuity, static stereopsis, and dynamic stereopsis showed a statistically significant positive correlation. Among these, far and near static visual acuity-static stereopsis, far static visual acuity-far dynamic stereopsis showed a relatively high positive correlation and deterioration in those with medium astigmatism (?1.00¡ÂCM ¡Â?2.75) than those with low astigmatism (?0.50¡ÂCL ¡Â?0.75) regardless of myopia.

Conclusions: In all refractive errors, astigmatic blur causes deterioration in static visual acuity, static stereopsis, and dynamic stereopsis. A higher correlation and large deterioration may occur in those with astigmatism of over ?1.00 DC, regardless of the presence or absence of myopia. Hence, for patients with astigmatism of over ?1.00 D, optometrists should be cautioned to undercorrect the astigmatism regardless of myopia.
